Drift is in beta for Windows and macOS. You can also open it in your browser, with nothing to install. The newest version is Beta 1.2 (0.1.0-beta.1.2), released 18 October 2026.

Drift is beta software
It works, and testers use it for real drawings, but expect rough edges and save often. A file saved by a newer Drift won't open in an older one, so if you share drawings, everyone should use the same version. Drift tells you when an update is ready.
The first time you open it
Drift isn't code-signed yet, so your computer asks before opening it the first time.
- Windows: if SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC", chooseMore info, then Run anyway.
- macOS: open the disk image and drag Drift to Applications. The first time, Control-click Drift and choose Open, or allow it inSystem Settings → Privacy & Security.
Updates installed from inside Drift don't ask again.
Checking a download
Each release lists SHA-256 checksums in SHA256SUMS.txt, signed with Drift's release key. Older versions and checksums are on the GitHub releases page.
